Why Buy the Zig-Zag Chair?
Inspired by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld’s iconic 1930s Zig-Zag chair. A principal member of the Dutch De Stijl movement, Rietveld originally created the chair for Dutch department store Metz & co. Designed for mass production, this innovative chair was both sturdy and comfortable. First released in 1934, the clever, functional chic design of this chair continues to appeal to artists and creatives of all sorts. While original 1930s chairs can run into the tens of thousands, high-quality reproductions offer the same classic design for the more modest buyer.
